Step 1
Getting started will be very simple. All you need to do is first draw a circle for the Mona Lisa’s head shape and then add facial contours. Next, draw a neckline and attach it to the body guide shape.
Step 2
Use the facial guides to lightly outline the shape of her piercing eyes. Her eyes aren’t fully open which means her eyelids are also showing. Draw her eyeball and shade in the pupil as you see here. You’ll also need to outline the shape of her nose and of course the Mona Lisa’s smile.
Step 3
Let’s outline her face shape as oblong. As you can see, she also has a slightly lowered chin. After the shape of her face has been outlined, you can start lightly sketching her long straight hair on the left hand side. Next outline the front hairline as well as the right hairline. Finally outline the shape of her neck.
Step 4
Your sketch will start to get harder as you progress to future steps. Just take your time and follow the steps. You will finish most of the Mona Lisa hairstyle as you see here. Be sure to outline her length and style flow. Once done, you can start sketching with some shading around the outer part of her eyes and then below her nose. Also sketch the first lines for her clothes.
Step 5
You are almost done with this sketch. This step is pretty easy, all you have to do is outline the lining for her shawl. Make sure to outline the folds and be crisp on both sides.
Step 6
You will now begin all the shading that needs to be done to create a grand sketch. But before you do that, you have to start erasing all the guides and shapes that you drew in step one. Start with her face and along the other side of her nose and then her eyes. Identify her famous cheeks and smile. Add some shading under her chin and along her shoulders as seen here.
Step 7
