How to Draw a Rattlesnake

Please see the drawing tutorial in the video below

You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below

Step 1

Let’s start by drawing the head. Draw a thin, horizontal curved line, semicircle. Now from the right end of the line draw another curve that is less curved than the other and bring it to the left.

Step 2

Draw the function by drawing a small diagonal line below the head, starting from the left down and right. Now draw the crooked fangs at the top of the mouth. Draw a fork-shaped tongue that comes out of the mouth below the canine teeth. Make sure the canines have sharp points.

Step 3

Now draw the eye as a small circle just below the top curve of the head.

Step 4

Now we draw the upper body as the curved “S”. Start by drawing a horizontal “S” line from the bottom of the head and twisting it at the left end. Now draw a curve from the top of the head and connect it to another line.

Step 5

Now let’s draw the rest of the body. Draw a diagonal part of the body starting from the middle of the upper part of the body and following the diagonal line to the right, below the head. Add details by drawing a line on the left side of the body and filling it with small diagonal lines. For the rest of the body, draw a “6” shaped body starting from the left side of the rest of the body. Make sure that you make both of the lines forming the lower body closer as they go towards the middle of the “6”.

Step 6

Draw the tail at the end of the body by drawing a long pointed triangle with small curves running across it for details.

Step 7

Draw random proportional patterns on your rattlesnake body for details. The scales look like double circles that curl across the body at small distances. You can color the snake to make it look more realistic.
