Step 1
As we mentioned in the introduction to the cookie drawing tutorial, this is a popular snack with an intricate design.
This can make it difficult for you to try to learn how to draw it, but we will break it down into smaller steps to make it much easier.
We’ll make things simple for this first step. To get started, all you need to do is draw a curved line that creates a long left-facing circle.
This shape will have a gap at the top and this will connect to the other parts of the cookie later.
At this point, it can be difficult to see how this shape will affect the cookie design, but it will become clearer soon!
Step 2 – Now draw another small part of the cookie
To continue this cookie drawing, we will add another small part to the design. To do this, we simply draw another circle using a curved line.
This will expand beyond the side of the section you drew in the previous step and will extend towards the right side of the page.
Do your best to draw these lines exactly as they appear in our reference image, as their placement will be quite important as more cookies are added.
Step 3 – Draw one of the cookie tops
With the center drawn, we’ll now start drawing one of the parts above in this step of the cookie tutorial. We’ll also draw one of the sections below, so let’s get started with that.
You can draw this lower section using the two curved lines below the two sections you drew in the first two steps. Then we’ll draw a larger cookie ring for the top.
This section should extend up from near the edge of the right overhang. It will expand up and around before connecting near the center of the design.
This can be a bit complicated, but if you take it slow and follow the image closely, this step will be easy to complete!
Step 4 – Next, draw the rest of the cookie outline
This step of the cookie drawing will see you add another large round of cookies. This next loop will take place on the left and it will mirror the upper right loop you just drew.
This means it will start near the left-facing part and will go up and around to connect near the center.
Once you have completed this part, you have completed all the hard parts! In the next step, we’ll add some final details to really bring this image to life.
Step 5 – Add the final details to your cookie drawing
Now that the outline of this food is complete, we can finish it off with some final details in the next step of the how to draw crackers tutorial!
Cookies will usually have small sesame seeds and salt on their surface, and we will draw these details now.
Simply draw some small teardrop shaped shapes on the surface of the cookies for these seed details.
You can add more if you like! By adding some small circles, you can also show some salt on the surface.
Once done, you can also take this drawing even further by adding a great background.
This way, you can indicate what other dishes you would like to enjoy with this cookie. How would you end it with your own details?
Step 6 – Complete your cookie drawing with color
With the details and elements of this painting now complete, you can complete this cookie drawing with some color!
Because cookies are made with ingredients and the way they are baked, they usually have a darker brown color to them.
This is the palette we used in our reference image, but even though we mostly kept the brown, we were able to create definition by varying the shades used.
