You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below

Step 1

Start by drawing a waterfall at a corner of the landscape. Use overlapping curves to outline rocks and falling water. Water texture with additional curves.

Step 2

Use “U”-shaped lines to sketch water splashes at the bottom of falls, river banks, and ripples in the water’s surface.

Step 3

Draw the meandering river using long and curved lines. Wrap the irregular circular shape of a rock, then draw ripples around the rock and riverbank.

Step 4

Draw tropical foliage plants that grow along rivers. Many trees have a very simple form – draw two curves that meet at a point and perhaps a vein that curves down the center. Then try your hand at a more complicated philodendron. Draw the leaf in segments, each like a curved rectangle. Then draw the central vein.

Step 5

Draw a tree branch above the river. Use the curves to outline the branches, some put together to form sharp branches. Use “U” shaped lines to vignette the bark and outline the top or crown like clouds.

Step 6

Draw a brush at the edge of the river. Use a pair of lines to form the trunk, then use the curves that meet at the points to outline the leaves.

Step 7

Draw more vegetation. Draw simple pointed leaves as well as lobed double leaves. Fill in the space between the two trees.

Step 8

Draw more trees and trees in the distance. Draw a grafted leaf and another brush. Then use a series of connected “U”-shaped lines to represent the rest of the forest.

Step 9

Draw additional layers of connected “U” shaped lines. Outline two triangular mountains on the horizon and use curves and a “U” shape to draw a smooth cloud.

Step 10

Color your forest. These forests are dominated by rich, green plant life. Color your cartoon forest and fill it with many cartoon animals. Travel to central Africa with rhinos, lions, elephants, hippos and giraffes or create a fairytale paradise inhabited by unicorns and pegasus.
