Step 1. Draw the head
Draw the head by first creating a U-shaped line. Next, shape the hair by creating a bumpy shape as shown. Now draw the face by first adding two circles for the eyes and two short, curved downward lines for the eyebrows. Then, draw the nose by making a small, inverted U-shaped line. Finally, create the mouth by drawing an upward curved line.
Step 2. Attach the body
Attach the body by drawing an elongated circle similar to the illustration.
Step 3. Add arms
Let’s add the surfer’s arms! First, draw two lines on either side of the body to form the arms. Now, attach the hands by forming a circle with three small lines. Don’t forget to add the thumb by creating a long, U-shaped line.
Step 4. Now draw the boardwalk pants
Now let’s draw the surf shorts. First, create an oval to draw the pant leg opening. Next, draw two lines connecting the oval to the body. Now, create an inverted L-shaped line as shown to draw the other leg.
Step 5. Attach the legs
Attach the surfer’s feet by first drawing two pairs of lines then creating two circles at the bottom to draw the feet.
Step 6. Create a surfboard
Create the surfboard first by forming a wide oval. Next, draw the visible side of the surfboard by creating a curved line. Then, draw a straight line in the middle of the surfboard as shown.
Step 7. Foam painting
Draw the spongy top of the wave by creating bumpy lines similar to the illustration.
Step 8. Create barrel shape
Draw a barrel shape by creating curved lines.
Step 9. Finish
Darken the details with a pencil for more realism
