Step 1:
Start by drawing the head. Create two lines that join together into a curve and have a few highlights on either side of the head. Add a small oval with a line on top for the eyes.
Step 2:
To draw the body and tail of the Gila Monster, continue from the head and create a shape that closely resembles a crescent moon, except more uneven and bumpy.
Step 3:
Draw the front legs away from the body and toward the right. Be sure to add five toes to the Gila Monster’s feet.
Step 4:
Draw the remaining front leg so that the long toes are blocked by the rest of the leg, and draw a curved line around the back as the end of the leg. Imagine that you’re looking right at it and can only see a few small bumps on the toes.
Step 5:
Draw the back leg the same as the first front leg except a little smaller.
Step 6:
Draw the other hind leg just like the other except slightly covering the foot and toes with the same leg.
Step 7:
Draw the pattern by adding more lines at the end and using other shapes and circles on the body. Your Gila Monster is complete!
