Materials
- Paper
- Pen
- Ruler
- Red, yellow, and dark red markers, crayons, or colored pencils
Step 1: Draw the outline of the flag
Start by drawing a rectangle on your paper. The Spanish flag has a ratio of 2:3, so you can use a ruler to draw a rectangle twice as wide as it is tall. The size may vary depending on the size you want to draw.
Step 2: Split the flag
Use a ruler to divide the flag into three horizontal stripes of equal height. The top and bottom stripes are red, the middle stripe is yellow.
Step 3: Add a badge
In the middle of the yellow stripe, you can optionally draw the Spanish coat of arms. It consists of a shield containing the royal seal surmounted by two crowned pillars, topped by a royal crown. You can draw a simple version of the coat of arms using basic shapes like rectangles, circles, and triangles.
Step 4: Color the flag
Color the top and bottom stripes of the flag red and color the middle stripe yellow. You can use red and yellow markers, crayons or colored pencils to color.
If you have chosen to include a coat of arms, use markers, crayons or colored pencils to add the necessary details. Use red for the shield and dark red for the columns and crown. You can also add any additional details or decorations you want.
