Step 1
Instead of starting with some basic tutorials, you’ll start with drawing the shape of the eye, and that shape is like a teardrop with a rounded tip instead of a pointed one.
Step 2
Next, draw an eyeball, then draw in the pupil a rectangular shape like some other hoofed animals like goats, sheep and cattle. Finally, sketch along the waterline near the corner of the eye.
Step 3
This is when you will outline your high-curving lashes. As you do this, outline the folds and folds around the eyes, along with long thick lashes. Be sure to add details as needed.
Step 4
For the final drawing step, all you have to do is outline the thick and expressive wrinkles under and around the eyes like so. Wrinkles should be drawn to form “pockets”. Erase the mistakes and you are done.
Step 5
Here’s what the horse’s eye should look like when you’re done. You can color the horse with any shade, pattern and design you like.
