Included are 9 easy steps to follow, kids will enjoy drawing their very own Buckingham Palace on paper. Also included is a downloadable version of this Buckingham Palace drawing lesson.

Step 1. Sketch the walls

Draw five vertical rectangles to outline the walls of Buckingham Palace.

Step 2. Add door

Add arched doors at the base of the building.

Step 3. Attach the roof

Form triangular roofs above the palace walls.

Step 4. Create Windows

Fill the walls of the palace with rectangular windows.

Step 5. Draw the horizontal beam

Add some decorative details by drawing horizontal beams on the palace wall similar to the illustration.

Step 6. Add pillars

Draw thin pillars in between the windows.

Step 7. Create exterior texture

Texture the exterior of the palace walls by drawing horizontal lines.

Step 8. Flag

Draw a vertical flagpole above the roof in the middle. Then, sketch the rectangular flag hanging from the top of the flagpole.

Step 9. Complete the drawing of Buckingham Palace

Let’s color in our drawing of Buckingham Palace! First, color the windows with a light blue pencil. Next, use a dark yellow pencil to shade the beams as well as the outline of the roof and doors. Now, color the doors with a dark brown pencil. Then, paint the wall with a cream colored pencil. Finally, use the gray pencil as the flagpole and the blue pencil as the flag.
