Serpent Drawing Step by Step
Step 1
Start this first step by drawing a perfect circle for the crystal ball and then draw a snake head shape. Once done, all you need to do now is draw a long slide for the snake’s body.
Step 2
Now in this next step you will start outlining the shape of the snake’s neck as seen and add a layer to the inside of its mouth. Draw a line for his eyes and shape the shape of the muzzle as seen here. Once that’s done, you’ll start drawing the rest of the body and tail thickness.
Step 3
So far this lesson is pretty simple, isn’t it? What you will do now is add some details to the inside of the mouth like the gums, teeth and tongue. Once done, add his eyes and then thicken the rest of the top part of his body or his neck. Draw another curve to make his body fuller and then move on to the next step.
Step 4
Well, you have reached step four and all you need to do is add the detailed definition to the body of the snake as seen here. Color in his eyes and then add more or his tongue to his mouth.
Step 5
This is your final drawing step and before proceeding, YOU MUST REMOVE ALL INSTRUCTIONS AND PICTURES. This is because you will be adding all the scales to the snake’s body, which will be a very lengthy process, so take your time and follow the pattern of starting from scratch first. As you can see the scales start out small but eventually get bigger as you go down the body.
Step 6
