Step 1

Here, it is a matter of maintaining proportions and staying within the original contours, so that the drawing appears to be correct and distinct. The first thing to draw is the tutu – an essential element of any ballerina costume. This will be outlined as a slanted ellipse with the left corner pointed. Then draw two lines for the ballerina’s legs, two arms, and a circle for her head. Now the basic pattern is complete, allowing you to draw with ease.

Step 2

Next, add definition to the base contour to make the ballerina more distinct. Mark lines for her shoulders as well as lines for her waist, and outline the rough shape of her legs. A Ballerina actress is usually slim and muscular, so try to make her figure look slim and refined. She is not said to be too chubby or full.

Step 3

Finish out sketching her legs and arms completely. She’s on tiptoe in a dance position, so drawing the feet should be easy, especially when she’s wearing pointed toe shoes. Don’t make the legs look too thick so as not to spoil the image.

Step 4

As a final step, erase all the excess contours and do it on the ballerina’s hand. She’s about to dance. Add a few more pencil strokes to the shape and outline the girl’s face.

Step 5

The ballerina’s costume is quite easy to draw compared to the facial contours. If you draw your ballerina over the entire sheet of paper, you must draw her face in detailed, close to nature. If your ballerina is quite small, you can skip the details and just focus on defining her mouth, nose, and eyebrows. The ballerina’s hair is always very neat – mostly in a high or low bun. So draw a light border around her head as a bun, and that’s it. Now your ballerina looks like the real thing, and you just need to trim her outfit and shade in your drawing.

Step 6

Ballerinas’ coats are usually translucent, so make sure you make it a sheer white or pink. Draw beam details. Evaluate your drawing to remember more important details like cursor borders. Remember that drawings from real life look more realistic. Since a ballet dancer performs on stage, paint the background accordingly. Be careful not to overload your drawing with extra elements; should not distract attention from the main character of the picture.
