You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below

Step 1

Start by drawing guide lines to help you form the bear’s body and head. Draw a large oval for the body and a circle for the head.

Step 2

Draw additional guide lines to show the bear’s hips and shoulders. Draw two circles just below the head and a larger circle overlapping the opposite side of the oval.

Step 3

Begin by detailing the bear’s back and head. Use curved lines to enclose the ears along the circle. Then use short, overlapping curves to detail the edges of the bear face around the circle; to connect the vertices of the circle and the oval, indicating the shoulder of the bear; and to form a hip hump on the bear’s back, continue along the furry hump.

Step 4

Use a similar technique – overlapping curves – to outline the forefoot and foot. Use the circle as a guide for footing.

Step 5

Use overlapping curved lines to outline the legs and rear legs. Again, use the circle as a guide to locate the bear’s hips.

Step 6

Erase the previously used guide circles and the top part of the original oval. Use the remaining circle to determine the position of the front shoulder. Then, use short, overlapping curves to outline the bear’s front paw and remaining paw. Outline the remaining hind leg right in front of the existing hind leg. Draw overlapping curves along the belly to give it a furry appearance.

Step 7

Delete the remaining guide lines. Then, wrap small, curved triangles at the tip of each toe to form a claw.

Step 8

Detail of the bear’s face. Use curved lines to enclose pointed eyebrows and eyes. Cover a small circle inside each eye to indicate the pupil. Then use curved lines to outline the muzzle, nose, muzzle, and mouth. Textured muzzle or upper lip with dots.

Step 9

Give grizzly a fur texture by drawing patches of short curves on its head, torso, and limbs.

Step 10

Color your grizzly bear. Hibiscus flowers are usually brown, but they can also be white, yellow, or reddish.
