How to Draw Luigi Step by Step

Please see the drawing tutorial in the video below

You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below

Step 1

First, we will draw the outlines of the two circles that correspond to the head and body of our character. As with many other cartoon style examples, the head is largely out of proportion. Neck is defective.

Step 2

Now we can draw the basic features of the face – big eyes, oval shape and larger round nose. There is a very small gap between the eyes.

Step 3

The large round mustache is a trademark that characterizes the style of the male characters in the Mario universe. So let’s draw a mustache and a mouth that looks like a small dash.

Step 4

Luigi has pretty cartoon facial features. In this step we will continue to draw this one. So let’s draw large, protruding ears and a shield from the locksmith’s hat.

Step 5

So in the final step we start to draw the cap. We’ll now finish this with a few circles above the border of our character’s head. Don’t forget about the striking and bright logo on the lid.

Step 6

Add small details like sideburns, eyebrows, and hairline at the bottom of the nape.

Step 7

In this step let’s add some small details to the clothes. These are the little jumpsuit ties every locksmith should have. Don’t forget to draw small circles like in our template.

Step 8

In this step we will draw our character’s long and round sleeves. Note the wide, rounded edges on the far sleeves.

Step 9

Drawing a fist is quite a difficult thing. So check out our special tutorial on how to draw a fist. Don’t forget to check out the proportions in our guide – the fists look bigger than the actual type.

Step 10

So we continue with our tutorial on how to draw Luigi from Mario. In this step we add the contours of the pants.

Step 11

Draw round boots, a basic accessory for builders and locksmiths. Don’t forget to draw a small outline of the sole with areas of relief protruding.

Step 12

We always leave a special step for you to evaluate the entire sketch before working with paint. We did not break this tradition in this lesson. Look at your drawing and see if all the shapes and proportions are correct. Fix any inaccuracies by erasing.

Step 13

Luigi’s traditional colors are green and blue. So, please use these colors to create a familiar look for this character. A darker base color will help you paint a brighter shade.
