You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below
Step 1
Start by drawing a shirt collar that the tie will go around as shown in the example.
If you want a more detailed step-by-step breakdown of the drawing, check out:
Step 2
Coming out of the bottom / middle of the collar add the tie knot. Make it slightly narrower as it goes down. Also try to draw all of its sides with a little curve.
Step 3
Coming down from the knot, add both sides of the tie. Draw each of them with more than one curve at their base and longer, smoother curves at the bottom. Also draw the two lines that separate as they go down so that the overall width of the tie increases. Just be careful not to overdo it because you don’t want it to be too wide.
Step 4
Finally, join the two lines of the previous one with an umpteenth pair of slightly curved lines at the bottom to obtain the end of the tie.
Step 5
After the main outline is finished, you can give the tie a small pattern by adding stripes. Make them slightly curved and try to space them evenly according to their length.
After drawing the stripes, you can trace your design with a black pen or maker. If you prefer, you can also just darken your lines with the pencil.
Step 6
In this case, the tie will be blue with some orange / light brown stripes. You can of course use a different color combination if you prefer.
If you want more vivid colors, manufacturers can be a good coloring option. If you want lighter colors, you can use colored pencils.
Conclusion
This tutorial shows how to draw a fairly common tie with a simple striped pattern. If you want to draw a shirt to go with it be sure to check out the tutorial for drawing one linked at the start of this one.
