You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below
Step 1
You will begin this lesson by sketching the slope like the shape of the cypress that makes up the picture. Next, draw the lining for the landscape background.
Step 2
You will now begin to sketch the small village in the distance, which happens to be Saint-Rémy. He painted the landscape in a view from the refugee camp to the north. The foothills and small buildings should be relatively easy to sketch. Just take your time, and you will do fine.
Step 3
Now it’s time to start sketching the shape of the cypress and the rest of the left hillside. Be sure to draw the tree the way you see it here. It is actually said to look like seaweed.
Step 4
Add some detail to the cypress, and then start sketching the swirls in the background that will make up the colorful sky. Draw a circle for the moon on the right, then add more landscape liners for the foothills.
Step 5
You will finish sketching the swirling clouds that make up the night sky, and then draw a crescent moon shape. Add smaller circles for the stars and then you can start erasing all the principles and shapes that you drew in step one.
Step 6
Here’s your finished mirror sketch of Vincent Van Gogh’s Starry Night, what it will look like when you’re done. Now it’s time to draw or color for fun. If you want to see the real-life original painting of Starry Night, head to the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
