Art For All

You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below

Step 1

Start this first step with instructions and shapes so you can frame Uncle Sam. Start with an oval like circle for his head and then add guide lines on the face. Next, outline his upper hat and then contour his torso, including his shoulders and arms.

Step 2

In the next step you will start drawing or sketching his face. Start with his busy brows. Now draw almond shaped eyes and pupils. Next, draw two “L” shaped lines to define the cheeks and then create a wide nose. Now you will create lines for the lips. Now you will start shaping his jacket using a crease. After you finish that sketch in his goatee and then his hand is pointing right at you.

Step 3

In this step, complete the lining for his hat and draw the line for the strap. You will now outline his wild-looking hair sticking out messyly on top of his hat. Next draw the collar and lining for his tie. The next thing you will do is detail the jacket by adding dividers for the shirt and jacket. Wrinkle his shirt and detail his fingers by adding nails.

Step 4

In this step all you will do is detail and define his face with some aging lines and colors in his pupils. Next draw a full size star and two half stars. Detail his coat a bit more and then you can start erasing all the guides and shapes that you drew in step one. That’s you done.

Step 5

When your drawing is cleaned up, he will come out looking like this. Take red and blue pencils, markers or draw and color him. That’s you done. I hope you enjoyed this tutorial on how to draw Uncle Sam step by step. I’ll be back with another tutorial.
