Step 1
First, we’ll outline our character’s shape using a few circles. We see a large circle in the center and two small circles above and below. This is a bit like the first steps from our post on how to draw a snowman.
Step 2
Scooby Doo Looks pretty funny. He looked up slightly to the left and smiled sweetly. Let’s sketch our eyes and the upper part of our character’s face in this step.
Step 3
Perfecting the face elements from the last step. Add roof-like eyebrows, large nose, and rounded chin.
Step 4
And now we will draw the outline of our dog’s long ears. In our version, one ear hangs noticeably and the other is straight, but you can choose the position of the ears according to your preference.
Step 5
Draw two smooth, vertical lines to connect the head and the body. Our left line starts right from the ear, and our right line starts from the cheek. Both lines are directed towards the body.
Step 6
Scooby Doo’s only outfit is a tagged collar where we can see the first letters of his nickname. Let’s draw this collar.
Step 7
We connect the two lower circles with a straight line. Adding contour of the foreleg is quite strong. Use the curves in this step.
Step 8
Draw the feet with two smooth curves. As you can see, the feet look very different in shape due to the special nature of the angle.
Step 9
In this step we will draw the contours of the big fingers. We see four toes on each foot that look like large semicircles. The distal legs appear to be larger than the proximal legs.
Step 10
The dog has quite strong hind legs. Let’s draw these feet for our character. It looks a bit like a butterfly’s wings.
Step 11
The Scooby Doo has very large hind legs. In this step we will draw the big toes of the hind legs, they are facing different directions.
Step 12
In this step we add a long, curved tail. Use smooth lines and don’t forget the round tip. The rear of the car tapers to the far side.
Step 13
We would like to highlight a special step to evaluate the overall sketch and identify errors and inaccuracies. This is very important so we can proceed to the final step in which we will color our drawing.
Step 14
We use traditional colors to recreate the familiar look of this adorable dog. Try to avoid colors that are too bright.
