How to draw New Zealand flag

Please see the drawing tutorial in the video below

You can refer to the simple step by step drawing guide below

Step 1. Start at the top of the flagpole:

Draw two small circles stacked on top of each other, the smaller circle below.

Step 2. Complete the flagpole:

To complete the flagpole, from the small circle draw 2 parallel lines, approximately the same distance as the small circle to form the flagpole.

Step 3. Draw a flag shape:

Draw a rectangle to represent the flag. Use your ruler to make sure the lines are straight. The ratio of the flag is usually 1:2 (height and width). Or you can also draw the edges of the flag with slightly wavy lines like the flag is flying for a more realistic look.

Step 4. Draw the stars:

Next, on the right side of the flag, draw four 5-pointed stars as shown. These stars represent the Southern Cross constellation as seen from New Zealand.

Step 5. Withdraw Alliance Jack:

In the upper left corner (blue part), draw the Union Jack. This is the flag of Great Britain, which has a combination of red, white and blue stripes and crosses.

Start by drawing a red diagonal line (St. Patrick’s Cross) from the upper left corner to the lower right corner of the blue section.

Draw a white diagonal cross (St. Andrew’s Cross) from the upper right corner to the lower left corner, intersecting the red cross.

Finally, draw a red diagonal cross (St. George’s Cross) inside the white cross, running from the upper right corner to the lower left corner.

Step 6. Color your flag:
