You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below
Step 1
If you are drawing on paper, it is best to use a regular pencil. If you are using sketch paper, use a good quality sketch pencil for 6b. However, when you are lightly sketching the portrait, use a 2b long pencil to do all the outlines and use 6b for the shading. Start with a circle for the face and/or head. Add face guides, then draw a position bar line that specifies the face pose you’re drawing.
Step 2
The first thing you want to do here is lightly outline the shape of her eyes, nose, and mouth with a 2hb pencil. Once done, go back and sketch around her eyes with the 6b pencil. This is to darken the upper lid of the eye and widen the tail as you see here.
Step 3
This step has more work to do than the previous one. The first thing you want to do is outline the shape of her face. Once done, outline her bottom lash line and lash line. As you can see the lashes are very thick. You can make them look like this by lightly sketching the lower lash line first, and then bolding those same lines with the 6b pencil. Once done, outline her mouth, eyebrows, and then the starting lines for her long, straight hair.
Step 4
All you have to do here is outline the hairs. Start the sketching process with tight knit pieces, and then you can extend the thread at the end. Once done, you can move on to the next and final drawing step.
Step 5
Finish out sketching her long hair as you see here. Next, add the shadow on the left side of her neck, and then add the shadow on the right side of her face. Also, you have to draw her shoulders and then start erasing all the lines and shapes you drew in step one.
Step 6
When you’re done, the sketch of this famous face should look like the one you see here. You can choose to color her or leave her as a sketch. If I were to sketch her face on paper, I probably wouldn’t color her.
