Step 1. First sketch the Moon

First, create the circular outline of the moon.

Step 2. Add texture to the moon’s surface

Add texture to the moon’s rocky surface by drawing ovals and wavy lines.

Step 3. Draw sun rays

Now, draw the sun rays visible behind the moon by creating a wavy zigzag line.

Step 4. Add another layer of sunbeams

Next, add an inner sunburst layer by drawing another zigzag line.

Step 5. Create sun rays

Form sun rays by drawing thin, pointed shapes that extend outward.

Step 6. Complete the eclipse drawing

Grab your colored pencils and color in our eclipse drawing! First, shade the moon with a dark purple pencil. Next, color the outermost layer of the rays and sunbeams with an orange pen. Then, paint the inner layer of the sunbeam yellow.
