Step 1. Draw the horse’s head
First, create a horse head shape similar to the illustration. Draw small pointed shapes of ears attached to the top of the head.
Step 2. Shape the face
Next, draw an oval for the eye. Now add a curved line for the snout and a small oval for the nostrils. Then add the mouth by drawing a curved line on top.
Step 3. Sketch the mane
Create a wavy outline of the mane on top of the head and along the horse’s back. Make sure to erase the parts of the horse’s head that coincide with the mane.
Step 4. Add texture to the mane
Draw wavy lines to add volume and texture to the mane.
Step 5. Draw the mane on the other side of the head
Outline the mane on the other side of the horse’s head by drawing a wavy shape.
Step 6. Complete the drawing of the horse’s mane
Let’s add some color to our horse mane drawing! First, use a dark brown pen to color the horse’s luscious mane. Next, fill in the eyes with a black pencil and add some shimmer with a white pencil. Now, use a light brown pen to color the muzzle and inner ears. Then, color the horse’s hair with a light orange pen.
