Step 1
In this first step, what you’ll do as always is draw out the guides and shapes to form a solid frame for Barney. Start by drawing a large circle for his head along with the guide lines on his face. Next, draw the shape of his stuffed outer body to look like the shape of an avocado. From the shapes you drew, you can now draw the guide lines for his arms and legs. From those lines create additional shapes for the hands and feet.
Step 2
Now here you will start drawing parts of his face. Start with two circles for his eyes and use the facial guides to draw the shape of his nose and open smiley mouth. Now on the left hand side draw his hand and part of his arm out as shown and repeat the same step for his right arm. Scroll down to your sketch and start drawing the shape of a giant dinosaur leg and left foot along with a circular toenail.
Step 3
As you can see, your Barney has taken shape. You will now draw his eyeballs and the lining inside his mouth for Barney’s teeth as shown to you here. Now draw the top of his left arm along with the lining to shape his left and right legs. Just above the bottom of the belly create a hook-shaped line to determine the roundness of the belly. On the right foot detail and shape it out and draw his toenails as well.
Step 4
All that’s left to do now is finish drawing his right arm and hand. Draw slight curves on each side of his belly starting from under his jaw. And finally draw its thick tail. You are now ready to erase all the guides and shapes that you drew in step 1 that aided you in drawing Barney.
Step 5
