How to Draw A Megalodon Shark Step by Step

How to Draw A Megalodon Shark easy with this how-to video and step-by-step drawing instructions. Fish Drawing Tutorial for beginners and everyone.

How to Draw A Megalodon

Please see the drawing tutorial in the video below

You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below

Step 1

We’ll start with the outline of the shark’s head in this first step of the megalodon tutorial. First, use a slight horizontal curve for the top of the head.

You can then use another similar line that is a bit longer to start the latter part of the megalodon. But what are the famous finless sharks?

We will also add that in this step. For the fin, you can draw a curve with a point at the top of it.

After you have drawn these lines as they appear in the reference image provided you are ready to move on to step 2!

Step 2 – Next, continue to draw the back and tail fins

This part of your megalodon drawing will see you continue the lines you started with in the previous step.

To do this, simply draw another slightly curved line from the fin with a very small spike extending near the end.

Then, at the end of this line, you would stretch it upwards in a slight curve. This will form the first edge of the caudal fin and we will finish that aspect very soon.

Step 3 – Now, start drawing the face and finish the tail

The megalodon was terrifying because of its huge jaws filled with razor-sharp teeth. We will draw it along with some other tails in this step of the how to draw megalodon tutorial.

First, draw the line for the caudal fin that you started with in step 2. To do this, simply draw a curved line in an almost boomerang shape down from the top of the caudal fin.

Then it’s time to start drawing the shark’s face. Start by drawing a slightly diagonal line down from the line for the head.

You can then draw the mouth to the face as shown in the reference image, but you can also draw the mouth a little more open if you want.

Finally, finish with a dot for the nose and a larger dot for the eyes on one side of the face.

Step 4 – Next, finish the outline of the shark

There’s a lot to cover in the next part of your megalodon drawing, so be sure to take it slow and keep an eye on the image!

You can start by drawing large fins on the bottom of the shark’s body first.

You would then draw a curved line for the shark’s belly starting at the bottom of the face, going behind those fins, and then ending at the bottom of the tail.

This line will also have some small sharp shapes extending down from it near the back.

Then you will draw the large gills and maybe add some line details all over the body to finish this step. Then just add some details to complete this drawing before you color it!

Step 5 – Now, complete your megalodon drawing

In the fifth step of this megalodon tutorial, we will add the final details before the final step.

These details will be made up mostly of some curvy details all over the shark’s body which will be colored as you move on to the next step.

Once you’ve copied the lines in our example, you’re ready to go! Before you do, you can also add some elements of your own.

These could include painting the ocean background with lots of sea life swimming around or maybe some extra details for the sharks.

These are just two of the many ideas you can come up with, so let your creativity run wild and see what happens!

Step 6 – Finish your megalodon drawing with some colors

The sixth and final step of your megalodon drawing will be to add some amazing color to your artwork to complete it.

In our reference image, we used some shades of gray and blue to give the shark a more muted look.

Scientists can only speculate on what these mighty animals might have looked like, so here’s your chance to show off the colors you think they might have!

You can also experiment with different art media and tools to create some vibrancy for this image. We can’t wait to see what you can do!

Your Megalodon drawing is done!

All six steps of this how to draw megalodon tutorial have been successfully completed and you have a fearsome prehistoric predator to show it off!
