Step 1. Draw the first batch of asparagus
Asparagus stems are long and thin, sometimes called “spears.” Use a pencil to draw high, vertical lines close together and make the top pointy.
Step 2. Add more branches
Draw more tree trunks on both sides. Asparagus is often bundled together.
Step 3. Draw the trunk and the tallest crown
Then we’ll add more of the top of the asparagus behind the stem we drew. The pointed tip of each asparagus plant is called the “crown”.
Step 4. Add scale leaves
Now we’ll add some small, triangular details and lines on each stem. Each asparagus plant has small leaves called “scales” that detail each spear.
Step 5. Draw the chain
Finally, complete the outline of your asparagus drawing by drawing a string or tie to hold each asparagus spear in place into a neat bundle!
Step 6. Color your drawing
Now it’s time to color our asparagus mostly green and yellow-green.
