You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below

Step 1

Start by drawing a circle, circle, but wider at the bottom than the top. This will form the dog’s head.

Step 2

Stretch a long and curved line from the side of the head. Its curves back to itself, connecting to the lower part of the head and enclosing a peanut-like shape. This forms the dog’s body. Notice the small overlap on the chest, creating the appearance of hair.

Step 3

Stretch two sets of curves from chest and abdomen down. These are the dog’s forelegs. Notice the curvature of the legs and the lines that overlap, showing the feathers. Connect the lines at the top with short, curves that form the foot. Draw a curve on each foot and use short, curves to differentiate the toes.

Step 4

Stretch the two pairs of curves down from the back of the body, forming the hind legs. Use a curve around each foot. Tape each foot with a curve and use short curves to indicate the toes.

Step 5

Erase guides from legs and torso.

Step 6

Draw two large, irregular ovals in the center of the face. These will form the eyes. Draw a curve above each eye and a “V” shaped circle in between them, indicating wrinkled eyebrows.

Step 7

Draw a rounded, upside down triangle to form the nose. Connect it to the bottom part of the face using curves. Draw short, curves to represent the hairs on the chest and legs.

Step 8

Stretch a curve from each side of the head and surrounds an irregular shape. These are the dog’s ears.

Step 9

To draw the tail, first draw a long, curved line up from the back of the body. From there, draw a series of short, curves to indicate the plumage. Let the curled tail end at one point, then join the body again. Face details. In each eye, draw a small circle inside a circle, and shade between the eyes. Draw a “W” shaped curve below the nose, forming the mouth. Draw dots above it.

Step 10

Color your pug. These dogs can be a combination of tanned, brown and black, or they can be solid black.
