You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below

Step 1

You’ll start with the top of the head and ears in this first step of our pitbull drawing tutorial.

The top of the head is created with a curve, and then the ears will be lowered with sharp points on the leading edge, as shown in the reference image.

You can also add some curves next to the ears like the beginning of the sides of the pitbull’s face.

Step 2 – Next, draw the rest of the head outline

Based on what you drew in the previous step, you can complete your pitbull head outline in this step.

First, use a curved line extending from the inner sides of the face you drew to create some cheeks for your pitbull.

Then use some more curves to create a thick muzzle for your pitbull, and then finish with the bottom mouth piece.

Step 3 – Now draw the pitbull’s first leg

The Pitbull has a short but very sturdy body, and we’ll begin to draw that out in this step of the how to draw a pitbull tutorial.

Now we will draw the shoulders and legs on the left side of the drawing. The leg will be quite thick and squat, and you can add three short toes to the end of it.

Then, once the leg has been drawn, you can use a curved line for the pitbull’s chest, as it appears in the reference image.

Step 4 – Next, draw another leg and tail of your pitbull drawing

You have already drawn one leg for your pitbull drawing, so now you can add another leg in this step. This leg will go over the other end of the chest that you drew in the previous step.

It will look very similar to the other leg you drew but will be mirrored to it.

Finally, you can draw the back of the pitbull from the head down and then give it a short tail.

Step 5 – Now, add the last two legs

You only have two more legs to add in this pitbull tutorial, so we’ll add them now! These will be the hind legs, and since they are further away they will look much smaller.

They will also be much closer together than the front pins, and they will connect to the line for the back and bottom, as shown in the reference figure.

Step 6 – Next, draw the nose for your pitbull drawing

This step of drawing your pitbull will be quite simple! All you need to do is draw a nice big nose in the center of the muzzle.

Then, once you’ve drawn that nose, you can add some dots to the sides of it to make a beard. The final part of this step is to add some small, sharp teeth to the mouth,

Step 7 – Next, draw the eyes and final details

We’ll wrap up some final details before moving on to the final step of this tutorial on how to draw a pitbull. The main thing to add are the eyes, and they will be quite small and far apart.

Fortunately, their small size and simplicity make them easier to draw! Once the eyes have been drawn, just add some more details.

You can draw some lines down from the eyes to add some details on the face, and then you can draw some curves on the eyes. Finally, draw some more lines on the forehead to complete your pitbull drawing.

Those are the last details we’ve added, but be sure to add any of your own that you’d like!

Perhaps you could paint a nice background to really complete this picture.

Step 8 – Now finish your pitbull with some color

Now you can have fun coloring in your awesome pitbull drawing! We used a light brown palette for our image, and while that’s one approach you can take, you should feel free to use any color of your choice.

Pitbulls can come in all different color schemes, so giving you plenty of options when it comes to coloring! How would you complete your pitbull drawing?
