You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below
Step 1
This is just a diagram of how human muscle looks like under all tissues and skin. As you can see the tendons are mixed with the muscle, and the muscle mass is usually wrapped around the bone.
Step 2
This is the shape of an arm when all muscles are relaxed. Note that there is no tension in the tissues and they appear to be more visible.
Step 3
There are three types of muscles you can draw on your character; muscular, toned and medium. As you can see the more the arm is pumped, the more muscle is built.
Step 4
Let’s start. Start by drawing the large bump on the right side for the shoulder. Next, draw in single guide lines for the bent arm, and then a little weird egg shape for the fist.
Step 5
You will now begin to outline the muscle starting at the top of the shoulder and work your way up to form the biceps. Add some definition to the shoulder as you see here.
Step 6
Now continue sketching the muscle by drawing at the triceps and then drawing at the flexed elbow and forearm as you see here. Continue lining the back of your hand in a fist shape, then move on to step seven.
Step 7
For your final step, all you have to do is draw with such a hand or fist, and remember to outline according to some muscular definition. Erase the lines and shapes that you drew in step one.
Step 8
This is what the muscle looks like when you’re done. Now you can use what you’ve learned to draw your next male figure. Thanks for joining me with this lesson on how to draw a muscle.
