Step 1
Manta rays are aquatic ‘filter eaters’, eating very small animals by knocking them out of the water they swim through. To start drawing one, create two curved points, connected by a curved line. Add a small hump to the right of the first point and add a smooth curve below the remaining point.
Step 2
Now draw a circle to make the eye on the hump behind the first point. Then draw a curved line down between the two points to make the big mouth of the Manta.
Step 3
Next, draw the belly by drawing a curved line down and behind the lower point you drew.
Step 4
Create one of the big ‘wings’ by drawing a long line that curves up, then slant down, before going back and down towards the belly you drew earlier.
Step 5
Now add the bearing. It is just a half oval in the middle of the body, with two sets of 5 lines drawn on either side for gills.
Step 6
Now draw a bold, long, pointed line at the back for the tail, and you’re done!
