You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below

Step 1

Start by drawing a flattened oval. This will form the base of the lighthouse, the rock on which it rests.

Step 2

Draw a wavy, curved line down from each edge of the oval. These form the sides of the rock. Then draw a long wavy line below the stone and other wavy lines next to and below the stone. They form ocean waves around the lighthouse.

Step 3

Draw two lines ascending from the oval, slanting closer together at the top. These lines form the sides of the lighthouse itself.

Step 4

Draw horizontal curves along the length of the lighthouse. They form the characteristic stripes of the building.

Step 5

In the bottom stripe, draw a small rectangle with a domed or curved top. This forms the door leading to the lighthouse. On the different stripes above the door, draw similar, but smaller, shapes to represent the windows.

Step 6

Draw a curved line, like a semicircle, at the top of the lighthouse. This will form a balcony or porch on the top of the lighthouse. Use a curved line around the crescent, then draw another curved line parallel to the first one. Connect the lines at the top with short straight segments and place additional short segments between the curved segments. This forms the railing around the porch. Finally, draw another curved line to indicate the opposite side of the railing.

Step 7

Draw a rectangle with curved corners on the top of the lighthouse. On it, draw a narrow, curved rectangle. Finish off the deck of the porch by connecting its edges to this new structure using curves.

Step 8

Draw another set of rectangles on top of the first one. This forms the lantern room from which the light enters.

Step 9

Draw a small, curved square on the face of the room with the lantern, indicating a window. Draw a few diagonal lines through it to brighten the glass. Finish the roof using a curved line and decorate it with a small circle on top.

Step 10

Color your lighthouse. The two classic styles are red and white stripes or black and white.
