How To Draw A Human Heart

Please see the drawing tutorial in the video below

You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below

Step 1

For the first step of the tutorial on how to draw a human heart, we will start with some outlines for the heart. We’ll start with the aorta, the tube-like part at the top of the heart.

Use some curves for this aorta with the small oval at its tip. It will then be connected to a circle below it, with a curve on its left side.

Once you’ve drawn that part, you can use another circle for the body of the heart below it. You’ve recreated the lines in our reference image, you’re ready for step 2!

Step 2 – Next, draw some veins and more contours

The heart’s main job is to pump blood around the body and this is supported by veins and other cavities, so we’ll draw some veins in this part of your drawing of the human heart.

To draw these veins, simply use a variety of curved, zigzag lines on the inside of the heart to make the veins float all over the heart. Then go to step 3 to know more about drawing.

Step 3 – Draw some more heart outlines

In this third part of our tutorial on how to draw a human heart, we will be adding heart outlines. Just use another curved line for the rest of the outline for the main part of the heart.

Then, once that outline is done, we’ll add some more veins on it that look very similar to the ones you drew in the previous step.

You can then add a small circle to the top right of the heart, as shown in the reference image.

Step 4 – Now, draw some more hearts

Your drawing of a human heart already looks amazing! In this step we will add some more sections to the top of the heart.

First, use the two curved lines at the top of the heart for one of the larger chambers of the heart. It will also have some thin and subtle lines on it for some extra detail.

Then there will be another shape in the upper right side of the heart with many aorta protruding from it.

There will also be some small details on it that you can draw with some small curves. Then let’s move on to some final details in the next step before you color your hearts!

Step 5 – Finalize the details and strokes of your drawing of a human heart

The fifth step in our tutorial on how to draw a human heart will be to perfect the final details of your painting.

The details that we will add will be in the upper left of the heart. You can use some curves for the aorta that protrudes from that side of the top of the heart.

With those last details, you’ve completed all the steps in this tutorial! You don’t have to stop there, as there are plenty of other details you can add to complete it.

One idea you could do is look up a diagram of a human heart and label the different parts of the heart.

You can also paint some extra organs to go with it or incorporate it into a great design. These are just a few ideas that you can work on, but what else could you think of to complete this drawing?

Step 6 – Finish your drawing of a human heart with some colors

For the final part of our drawing of a human heart, we will finish with some amazing colors!

In our reference image, we used several shades of pink to give it a realistic, fleshy look, but these colors are just a hint.

You can also use some of your own colors to complete it, and even if you keep it more realistic, there are still colors that you can include in the mix.

You can also create a more stylish image by using your favorite bright and vibrant colors to give it an eye-catching look.

Then it’s just a matter of choosing what art medium you’ll use to achieve your colors.

For light colors you can use some medium like acrylic and crayons, but for some lighter tones you can use watercolors or crayons.

These are just a few ideas, but what colors and mediums will you use to complete it?
