Coconut Crab Drawing Step by Step

Step 1

Let’s draw a Coconut Crab, one of the largest crabs. To draw the head, create a rounded rectangle with two circles on top for the eyes. Next, draw a small nose shape as shown and another small line below the curve.

Step 2

For the crab’s back, draw a large circle behind the head.

Step 3

To draw a beard, draw two long curved lines from the front of the head. Coconut crabs have a very good sense of smell so they can easily locate food.

Step 4

Draw the chelipad or leg first by creating several connecting bubbles until you reach the claw at the end. Add two small, pointed cones to make pliers.

Step 5

Now add the other front chelipad by drawing much larger ovals to make them connect together. Draw the one at the end with a large claw. Their claws are so strong that they can even break coconuts!

Step 6

Now draw the front leg by adding more bubble ovals along a straight line. Add a curve in the back for the far leg.

Step 7

Next, draw another leg, but this time, make the shapes a bit more rectangular. Don’t forget points!

Step 8

For the back legs, draw two smaller bubbles in the back.
