How to Draw Broccoli Easy for Beginners - Vegetable Drawing

Please see the drawing tutorial in the video below

You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below

Step 1 – Draw the Construction Line of the Broccoli Crown

Start by drawing a very basic construction drawing to frame the main shapes / shapes of the broccoli. Keep all of the building lines in the entire guide very light as you will want to remove them later. For the first step, start with the crown (top) portion of the broccoli. For this particular example, draw the top with a large curve and define the edges with just a few lines to loosely “frame” the shape. The area between the top and the main body will be the “branch” where the stem splits into sections. Now you can draw it with just two lines. It should be wider towards the top and narrower towards the main body.

Step 2 – Draw up the construction line drawing of the trunk

Similar to the above section, you can redefine the main body with two lines. In general, broccoli stalks will have a rather circular cylindrical shape which makes the base where they are cut quite round. In this case, however, the broccoli is being viewed at an angle, so you’ll want to draw the bottom part more like an oval.

Step 3 – Completion of construction drawing

Finally to complete the construction drawing, let’s add a few very loose lines indicating the shape of the underside of the crown.

Step 4 – Draw the trunk

Now draw individual ‘branches’ as well as main body details such as smaller convex and curves. You can also add a few more details to the bottom of the crown.

Step 5 – Draw flowers building drawings

Now let’s clean up the initial set of construction lines and add the smaller details of the broccoli. Preliminary identification of each flower section using construction lines similar to what was done for the entire crown in the first step of the tutorial. Once done, you can start adding individual shoots around the crown’s main outer shape.

Step 6 – Complete the broccoli drawing

Again delete the construction lines. Next, draw buds for each flower as well as any protrusions / curves along the main shape of the stem. Once finished, you can review your entire drawing with a firmer pencil contour to finish.
