Step 1
Humpback whales can be drawn in 8 steps. The first is to make the top, by making two sides of a bumpy triangle. Above should have a hump in the middle, before bringing an angle to the round, smooth chin for the whale.
Step 2
Now add mouth, eyes and tiny dots on its lips. The mouth can be added by a simple curve back and forth. The right eye is a small circle just behind the mouth. Be sure to make the dots on his mouth very small!
Step 3
Next we draw the back. It must be a return line from the top of its head, very slightly curved, before reaching a fin like a fin. It should curve forward and down only slightly. Then create a curve going back and down again.
Step 4
Now for the first flipper! It should be done with two curves starting right after the eyes, and bent down and back. The curves will respond with a short connecting line at their ends.
Step 5
We can draw the belly by creating a curve back, and slightly protruding at first. When you’re near your back, bend it down and turn around. Leave some space between your back and stomach so you can add your next tail!
Step 6
The tail can be drawn with four lines. First start from just below your back, lean back and end in a slight downward curve. The next short line curves up and heads forward initially, before leveling. The next line is also short, leaning forward and down, before bending almost straight down. Finally, a simple curved shape connects your third line to your abdomen.
Step 7
Next add the second flipper. It should be a large, slightly curved paddle shape and have a wide, round head.
Step 8
Humpback whales have grooves on their chin, throat and stomach! These are long stripes that run along its body. Draw these by creating lines next to each other. Finally, color the whale! Now you’ve painted your whale!
