Road Sign Drawing step by step
Step 1. Drawing the Signpost Cap
First, begin by drawing a cylindrical cap at the top of the signpost using a small oval, then add a curved line underneath to create thickness, as shown in the illustration.
Step 2. Sketching the Signpost
Next, draw two vertical lines to form the signpost. You can use a ruler to help create the lines. Make the base of the signpost slightly thicker. Note that if you are drawing with ink and don’t want to erase it, leave the top part blank as shown in the illustration to attach the signpost.
Step 3. Attaching the Arrowheads
Next, attach the pointed arrowheads to the signpost in the blank spaces.
Step 4. Shaping the Edges of the Arrowheads
Draw the side edges of the arrowheads. Draw a rectangular outline inside the arrowheads where you can write the street name, as shown in the illustration.
Step 5. Attach the ground anchor
Draw a wide ground anchor at the bottom to secure the pole to the ground.
Step 6. Color the road sign drawing
First, color the top of the pole light gray. Next, use a very dark gray for the base of the pole. Now, shade the top of the pole and the ground anchor with shades of dark gray. Color the arrowheads green. Then, color the street name labels cream.
