Step 1. Sketch the canopy
Outline the canopy by drawing a dome shape. Form the bottom of the arch using a bumpy line.
Step 2. Add canopy details
Let’s add details to the canopy! First, outline the inside of the canopy by drawing a bumpy line. Next, draw a curved line down touching each point at the edge of the canopy. For the inside of the canopy, draw an upward curved line touching each pointed end as shown.
Step 3. Finish the umbrella dome
Draw a larger curved line above to form the top of the umbrella.
Step 4. Draw columns
Draw the pillar by forming a long thin shape with a curved top as shown.
Step 5. Drawing sand
Draw sand on the base of the umbrella by creating shapes as shown in the illustration.
Step 6. Attach ribs
Attach the canopy’s ribs by creating curved lines from the pointed end of the canopy to the top of the column.
Step 7. Complete the cell drawing
Complete the umbrella drawing by coloring the canopy with white and red pencils respectively. Shade the inside of the canopy with a purple pencil to add some shine. Next, color the column with an orange pen. Then, color the sand with a yellow pencil.
