Snape Drawing Step by Step
Step 1
Start by creating a circle for the head and then, as always, draw the guides for the face and body.
Step 2
Using the facial guides, draw the eyes in the seriously expressive shape they are. The border should be bold and there should be some lash line as well.
Step 3
Sketching the face shape of Snape anime like that, then sketching the nose, mouth, cheekbones, then drawing eyeballs, eyelids and drawing eyebrows is also an expressive gesture.
Step 4
You might want to take your time when sketching out his hairstyle, which you know is a bit messy. His hair is soft and straight. Razor tips convey how uncombed hair looks decent. Create such long curved bangs and outline some details with the hair. Once the hair is done, outline at the neck and move on to step five.
Step 5
Okay, to keep things simple, we’ll start by sketching the reverse side of his cape and the heavy creases that sink in with it. Note that because his cape is so long and covered, you’ll see a lot of wrinkles and layers of clothing when it’s in a position like this.
Step 6
Ok, let’s start sketching his arms extending from the cape he’s wearing. Note that Snape IS a dark potions teacher and that he has a long dark cloak and suit that covers most of his skin. I’m not sure how old he is in the Harry Potter series, but my rating is 40? Try to keep some distance between the placed guides and the position of the arms. Use LIGHT lines to detail the clothes.
Step 7
Next, taking a deep breath, let’s start working with the hands. The hand should be drawn finger-by-finger rather than trying to complete the whole thing. Try to draw the bones of the hand using angled lines.
Step 8
Then let’s sketch our way to the right side of his arm which is at waist height. I want this tutorial to be extremely simple rather than a complex piece of content. Most novice artists will want to paint his face more than anything. Outline areas of wrinkles and thick overlays on his cape.
Step 9
To complete this drawing, enhancing your success, sketch out the finishing touches for his clothes; typically the lacing buttons of bras (no longer available for the sake of simplicity). If you feel the wave is a challenge, go ahead and draw the nodes as well. Don’t forget to add wrinkles in places with rough lines in the middle.
Step 10
“I’ve got a head but my head is clearing up!” See what your drawing looks like? It will look something like this. If not, check your proportions by carefully reading this guide as you review your drawing. Clean up your lines and prepare for the inks (use a marker or pen). I hope you enjoyed this lesson, thanks for watching and leave your suggestions below (yes, I read them!) As you do this, reward yourself and enjoy “Perfect Pills” ” by NIN. It helps a lot…at least for me 😉
