Please see the drawing tutorial in the video below
You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below
Step 1
Start by choosing your pencils. I used the HB pencil for sketching/shading, the 3H pencil for highlights and lines, the B pencil for the dark lines, and the 3B pencil for the shadows.
Step 2
Start with a basic sketch of Cloud. Use the instructions if you need to.
Step 3
Your sketch should look something like this.
Step 4
Start defining your sketch a little bit starting with the facial features. Don’t worry too much about everything being fine. Later on, it will be easier for you to correct your mistakes. Just make sure you’re sketching very lightly! Use an H pencil instead of HB if you want a thinner line.
Step 5
Now define the hair a little more.
Step 6
Now let’s define his outfit a little more.
Step 7
Blend in your shade using a blend stump.
Step 8
Start adding shadows to the drawing from top to bottom. Rely on your 3H and HB pencils for this. Use pencil B to create a darker shade.
Step 9
Start giving your hair some shine. Start by defining the outline of your hair a bit more by darkening and blending your background. Then mainly use the 3H pencil to add in the hairs.
Step 10
Complete the hair and ear shading.
Step 11
I started layering Cloud’s collar in this step but the main thing you have to worry about is defining the background a bit more closely. Use pencil layers HB and 3B and a blend stump to smooth your foundation.
Step 12
Shade in his shoulder pad. Use a 3H pencil on the “Cloudy Wolf” icon. Use pencils B and 3B on the shoulder pads. Use a 3H or HB pencil to add texture.
Step 13
Use the HB pencil to brush through the rest of the garment to add definition and prepare for the final layer of shine.
Step 14
Add another layer of shine to the garment. This time, start using the B and 3B pencils to darken your lines and shading.
Step 15
Complete your shade. Review the drawing again from top to bottom. Smooth your shading using a stump blend and go over any lines that need to be redone. I hope you guys who are Final Fantasy fans will enjoy this tutorial as much as I did! As always, comments and questions are always welcome.
