Step 1
To start Elmo, draw an egg-shaped oval for his body and another circle on it that will be his head. The two shapes should be roughly the same size, with his body just slightly above his head.
Step 2
Elmo doesn’t really have a neck. Instead, pull his arms directly between his head and torso, slightly arched down.
Step 3
Giving Elmo four thick fingers is almost like he’s wearing a heavy glove.
Repeat the exact same process to create Elmo’s other arm and hand, except make it curl up to look like he’s waving.
Step 4
Draw Elmo’s legs the same way you did his arms, with a large rectangular foot.
After you give Elmo your other leg, we can start drawing his face by drawing three tightly connected circles that will be his eyes and nose.
Step 5
Draw Elmo’s wide mouth using jagged lines to make it look a bit disheveled.
Step 6
Now that Elmo is basically done, we need to look at the outlines of his body and replace them with messy lines to give him a smooth look.
Step 7
Following the red lines, go all over Elmo’s body to give him a scowling look.
Step 8
This is how he should look after you have replaced his outline with the jagged border from the last step.
