You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below

Step 1

The first step of our boys hair tutorial will start with the top of the hairstyle. To do this, we’ll start by drawing some jagged lines to form the curved top of the hairstyle.

To make it easier, you can use a pencil to draw a simple, curved line and then use the pen to draw jagged lines along it.

Once you have it looking like your reference image, you’re ready for the next step in our tutorial!

Step 2 – Draw the sides of the hairstyle

You will be adding the top of the hairstyle you drew to the boy’s hair drawing to create the sides in this step.

Each side of the hairstyle will curl slightly as they come down from the top of the hair.

The two sides of the hair won’t be exactly the same, as the left side has a rounded dip while the right one goes straight from the top.

If that sounds a bit complicated, the reference image will show you how it should look!

Step 3 – Start drawing the edge of the hairstyle

In this step of the tutorial on how to draw boys hair, we will draw the fringes of the hairstyle. This fringe will go around the midpoint of the hairstyle.

You can draw it with a series of small, curved lines to create the style, but be sure to leave some space between the end of the crease and the sides of the hairstyle.

We’ll fill that void when we take the next step.

Step 4 – Start filling in the details of the hairstyle

When it comes to drawing persuasive-looking hair, there are several key attributes that contribute to getting the right look.

These include the shape of the hair, how you use color, and how you draw the lines inside the hairstyle.

We will focus on the last element in this part of your boy’s hair drawing. For this step, you will draw a series of slight curves on the inner part of the hairstyle.

This is the step where carefully referencing the reference image will help a lot! Some lines will go up from the fringe, while others will come down from the top of the hairstyle.

The reference image will guide you to position these lines in a way that creates the volume of the hairstyle.

Finally, draw two cooking serrations for the inner edge of the sides of the hair.

Step 5 – Now, draw some more details

In this fifth step, we will add more to the sides of the hairstyle. First, draw some more lines along the side sections of the hairstyle.

Then you can draw some rounded ear shapes below the edges. It’s as simple as that, and now let’s move on to the next step!

Step 6 – Draw your chin hairstyle

Before we move on to the final coloring step of this boys hair tutorial, we have a few final touches to add.

The main thing is to use a curved and rounded line for the jawline and the chin of the face below the hairstyle.

Before you continue, be sure to add any extra details you want to your drawing!

You can draw a face to match the hairstyle if you’re feeling more creative or even create a nice background for your drawing. We can’t wait to see what you can do!

Step 7 – Finish the boy’s hair drawing with some colors

We mentioned earlier that color is one of the ways you can make your hair more realistic and that’s why we will be doing it in this part of your son’s hair drawing. !

We used black and gray for our example image, but feel free to use any color you want!

While you can change the color to anything you want, the reference image will guide you through how you can use color to create highlights.

You can see how we used different shades of black with gray lines mixed in to create this striking effect.

No matter what color you use, you can use this technique for your own drawings.

Try to combine different shades in your palette, and the reference image will guide you where to place the darker and lighter shades. What color would you choose for your image?
