I just can’t get enough of these cartoon tutorials, and I hope you can’t either! Today’s tutorial is of a character that has an immense cult following: Invader Zim. One of my absolute favorite cartoon characters, Invader Zim’s face is plastered almost everywhere you look. Now, with a few simple steps, you can draw Invader Zim on your own
You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below
Step 1
To start, draw a small rectangle towards the bottom center of your paper. This will be the middle part of Zim. On top of this triangle, draw a large oval shaped like a balloon, which will become his head.
Step 2
On top of Zim Invader’s head, draw an upside-down triangle that connects to the left edge of his head. This will become Zim’s mouth as he smiles triumphantly!
Step 3
To create Zim’s arms, draw two very skinny arms that stick out from the neck and up. At the end of each arm, draw a simple square that will serve as a clenched fist.
Step 4
Zim’s legs protrude from each side of the lower part of his midsection. At the end of each leg, draw a vertical triangle that will be the top of his boot. At the end of that triangle, draw a horizontal line that will be Zim’s legs.
Step 5
After you have drawn the basic diagram of Zim’s body, you can add his eyes. Draw a large oval on the upper left side of his head. This eye is 1/2 the height of his entire head. Next to that eye, draw a small rectangle that will be the half-closed eye that gives Invader Zim the smirk.
Step 6
The Zim invader has a very long tongue that sticks out from its head quite far. This is attached to his neck, and extends in an “M” shape.
Step 7
Zim also has a simple backpack that you can create by drawing a half circle on the upper left side of his body.
Step 8
At this point, you’ve done most of the work involved in drawing the Invader Zim. Now all that is left to do is fill in the details. Draw Zim’s wavy teeth, darkening the inside of his mouth and adding emphasis to his eyes. Clean up your lines a bit and you have a complete Zim Invader. Give yourself a pat on the back!
