You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below

Step 1

In this first step, you’ll draw guides and circles to create a solid frame for Donkey. Start by drawing a circle for the top of his head and then outline following the facial guidelines. Now draw a large elongated circle for his body. Once you’ve drawn those two shapes, you can draw all the guides that stick together as shown above. Don’t forget to plot every line shown.

Step 2

In the next step, you will draw the shape of his ears, eyes, eyebrows, and mouth. Now draw part of his neck and front of his legs as you see in red. After you’ve drawn all the liners in this step, you can move down to step 3, where Donkey will have more shapes and strokes. Remember that all red lines need to be drawn in each step.

Step 3

See after you complete step 2 you will have a sketch like the image above. Here you will draw Donkey’s teeth and the remaining front leg. On the same side of his jaw, you have to sneak in a line to finish off his neck and back. You can then draw the shape of its stout tail and part of its hind legs.

Step 4

This is the final step. You will detail and identify the rest of Donkey as you can tell. What you want to do next is draw the inner membrane of his ear and give him some pupils. Then put the shade inside the mouth and pull out the other hind leg as shown. You can erase all the guides and shapes that you drew in step one to clean up your sketch and prepare it for coloring.

Step 5

This is your Donkey. You finished that is it. How easy is it to do that? Simple as that. Now all you have to do with him now is to color him in sepia and place him along with Shrek. That does it for another tutorial on a character from the movie Shrek. I think how to draw Donkey is an easy tutorial to follow.
