Step 1
So we started our tutorial on how to draw cute eyes. Before drawing anything, we need to decide where the object is on the paper. In our case, we can outline the position of the eyes using two intersecting lines. The horizontal line will act as a guide for the lower line of the eye, and the vertical line will indicate symmetry.
Step 2
In this short but important step we will draw the upper contours of the eyes. Be especially careful when drawing these lines, as the size of the eye depends on the manipulation. Avoid pressing too hard on the pencil during this step.
Step 3
Now let’s draw two more smooth lines that will close the arcs from the previous step. This will form the basic contours of the eyes. At this step, you need to carefully check the lines that we have drawn from the first step.
Step 4
We often say that the shape and position of the iris shape the personality and direction of the gaze. Hence, in this step we will draw the iris moving towards the nose conditionally. This will create a cute intent and look.
Step 5
As you know, the human eye has an auxiliary apparatus, consisting of eyebrows, eyelashes, and other anatomical structures. In this step, we will draw thick and tight eyelashes in a propeller shape. Notice how your lashes curl up and up and to the side.
Step 6
This time we did a really small lesson and we are close to the final. We’ll start this step by deleting the construction lines. Then, with strong pressure on the pencil, we will circle the contours of the eyes and lashes. At the end of this step we’ll paint the pupils using a dense intensity shadow. Pay attention to white highlights. This is a very important detail.
Step 7
Check all the lines and all the shapes you drew in this tutorial. Draw the final lines around the upper and lower eyelids. Use short lines to outline the natural folds of the skin.
Drawing eyes is not an easy task. However, if you regularly practice and draw eyes in different shapes and from different angles, you will very quickly become a true master. Don’t forget to email us about how useful the tutorial was. We’d love to hear from you!
