Terrier Dog Drawing Step by Step

Step 1

The lesson is really simple to follow here. All you have to do to get things started is draw two shapes, a circle for the head and an egg for the body. You will add facial guides and a neckline.

Step 2

Start outlining the shape of the dog’s head including the furry ears, cheeks, and chin. Note that the undercoat is a bit jagged, this is because some terriers have thick, tightly rolled coats. Once this is done move on to step three.

Step 3

Now just draw the body including the front legs, back legs and all the feet. This is very simple to achieve since the terrier you are drawing is a small breed.

Step 4

For the final drawing step, fill in some small round eyes, nose and draw the tail, eyebrows, cheeks and mouth details. In the end, all you have to do is draw toe lines for all four feet, then draw a nice simple jacket marker design of your choice. I chose to draw a two-tone marker on the chest. Erase the guides and shapes you drew in step one to tidy things up a bit. After all, no one likes a dirty dog.

Step 5

When you’re done, your newly drawn terrier looks a lot like the one you’re seeing right in front of you. Just choose some coat color and shade of the breed to your liking. Thank you for joining me with this tutorial on how to draw a hound.
