How to draw a Poison Dart Frog

Please see the drawing tutorial in the video below

You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below

Step 1: Start with the head. It resembles a winding “J” shape. The mouth line is an extremely thin line just below the long bottom line of the “J”.

Step 2: Draw the back of the head. Make a small bump on the top of the head. This will be the eye at the back of the head. Add a round eye just below the bump. Make another circle within the circle. Add a short line from the bottom of the mouth on a downward angle for the neck.

Step 3: Where you stop drawing the neck draw a downward curve to make the front part of the front leg. Add a straight line next to it with the same bend angle. This makes the front legs thin. Behind the back line of the front leg continue a horizontal line to make the abdomen straight.

Step 4: Next draw the front foot at the bottom of the foot. There are three long toes on the feet.

Step 5: Continue the neck line to the chain to make the frog’s back. There is a small bump right in the middle of the line. At the end of the line draw the hind legs. It’s almost like a paper clip. Draw an upside down “U” with the top of the U almost reaching the belly line and the bottom at the end of the back line. Draw a regular “U” slightly to the left of the upside-down “U” so that one side of the U is inside the other.

Step 6: At the bottom of the right side up “U” add the hindfoot and three long toes. The toes will be the same size as the front toes.

Step 7: Just below the head add the remaining front foot. Don’t forget the three toes.
