How to Draw a Pilgrim

Pilgrim is the Latin word for “tourist”. It usually describes a person who travels away for religious reasons. This is called pilgrimage. In the United States, it is commonly applied to the Pilgrims of the Colony of Plymouth.

American pilgrims have traveled far for their religion, as their name suggests. They were either British settlers or Puritans fleeing religious persecution in England. They went on a ship called the Mayflower.

Do you know? Many myths surround the Pilgrims and Thanksgiving. What they ate and their views of Native Americans are examples of this – we don’t know if they raised turkeys, and then they fought with native tribes. Even the clothes they wear come from later ideas of “ancient” or “ancient”.

However, Pilgrim wearing a brown coat is a herald of autumn in North America. Learn to draw one below.

You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below

1. Start by drawing the pilgrim’s hand. Use straight and curved lines to outline the quadrilateral crown and long, curved lines for the brim.

2. Pilgrims’ hats are buckled hats. Draw a curved line through the crown to form the headband. Then draw a rounded rectangle inside a rectangle on top of the ribbon, forming the key.

3. Sketch the man’s hair and ears. Use a series of “U” shaped lines of different sizes to form the hair. Draw a “C” shaped line for the ear and detail its inside with a curved line.

4. Use a long, curved line that hugs the face. Then use another curved line to form the nose.

5. Detail the face of the pilgrim. For each eye, draw a “C” shaped line with a small circle for the pupil. Use curved lines to indicate eyebrows, mouth, and cheeks.

6. Next, you will sketch the typical pilgrim’s attire. Draw a “U” shaped line at the neck. Then draw the triangular collar of the garment on each side of it. Then draw a long curved line to form the body. Below this one, consists of three curved rectangles, one of the others. This forms the belt and the belt buckle.

7. Draw the man’s arm. For each arm, extend two curved lines. Draw a curved trapezoid at the end of each arm to enclose the sleeve and form the cuff. Draw a small button, a circle, on each cuff. Then use a series of overlapping curves to enclose the hands.

8. Draw two curved rectangles below the waist, forming the tail of the shirt. Below this one, include two irregular round shapes. These are men’s pants.

9. Extend two lines below each leg to form the lower leg. Then, use a curved line to enclose the irregular triangle of the shoe. Fold a curve back to itself at the top of each shoe.

10. Color your Pilgrim cartoon. In most artworks, the Pilgrims are depicted in dark, plain clothes, black or brown. While this is often true of the poor, the rich pilgrims actually wear bright colors!
