You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below

Step 1

Despite the fact that this type of musical instrument has existed for many years, its appearance has not changed much. So use the lines of light to outline the contours of the top (and most basic) of the piano. Notice that on one side, the contours should be straight and on the other rounded.

Step 2

Now, at the top of the piano, we outline a cover, as shown in our example. But unlike our example, you can draw a binding. Now, on the lower part of the piano, outline the legs and pedals.

Step 3

Now, use clear and straight lines to draw the front of the piano, as in our example. You can use a ruler, but it would be great if you could manage without it.

Step 4

Now move a little higher and with the help of the same clear and dark lines draw the body, lid, and music stand.

Step 5

We move down to the bottom of the piano and draw the legs and pedals. Remove all unnecessary instructions from the drawing to make the piano clean and tidy.

Step 6

Now, perhaps the hardest step of the lesson on how to draw a piano. Here we will have to draw the keys. Be sure to consider the exact placement of the keys.

Step 7

Now, with the help of straight highlights will outline the glare on the piano’s surface. Paint the keys black and add shadows, like in our example.

There are quite a few straight lines here. If you can create an entire drawing without using a ruler – then you’re a great artist.
