Step 1. Shape the hull

First let’s sketch the shape of the hull. Now, create a horizontal line across the hull. Then, draw a line following the shape of the top part of the hull.

Step 2. Draw the rails

Draw the rail by first creating a long, thin horizontal shape. Next, draw pairs of vertical lines attached to the top of the rail.

Step 3. Create Cabin

Create a cabin by drawing a rectangle as shown.

Step 4. Add Windows

Add windows to the cabin by creating a rectangle.

Step 5. Draw the crane and mast

First, draw a thin vertical rectangle to form the mast. Next, draw the boom by attaching a thin horizontal rectangle to the mast.

Step 6. Create a rope

Create a rope attached to the boom and mast by drawing a hook-shaped line at the end.

Step 7. Add cargo containers

Add containers by drawing stacks of rectangular boxes as shown.

Step 8. Draw the water body

Draw the water by creating wavy horizontal lines.

Step 9. Complete the cargo ship drawing

Let’s complete the cargo ship drawing by first coloring the ship’s hull in dark red and purple. Next, color the mast and boom with a brown pencil. Now, shade the cabin with a white pencil and the windows with a blue pencil. Let’s color the boxes with different vibrant colors! Finally, fill in the sky with a light blue pencil and the water with a dark blue pencil.
