How to Draw a Pinecone

Please see the drawing tutorial in the video below

You can refer to the simple step-by-step drawing guide below

Step 1

Start by drawing a branch. Use long curves of different lengths to create branches. Allows them to meet at sharp or gentle spots.

Step 2

Draw another branch that grows from the first one. Draw a pair of curves and let them meet at a sharp point. Then, draw pine needles emerging from this branch. For each needle, use two curves that meet at a sharp point. Note that the needles near the base of the branch are larger than the ones near the tip.

Step 3

Draw the needle along the longest branch. For each needle, draw two curves and let them meet at a sharp point.

Step 4

Draw another branch that grows from the bottom part of the existing branch. Draw a branch using curves that meet at a point. Then, draw the needle along the branch, using two curves for each line, so that they meet at one point.

Step 5

Start drawing pineapple yourself. At the end of the branch remains, enveloping an unusual shape like a circular, upside down triangle. Then place a four-sided circle below this shape. In the end, place a small rounded triangle below the previous shapes. The “leaves” of the conifer are called scales.

Step 6

Continue to draw the overlapping ratios. Note that the scales are shaped like a circular triangle or quadrilateral, each with points pointing downwards.

Step 7

Continue to draw the overlapping scales of the pineapple. Note that as the larch grows, it also becomes narrower.

Step 8

Continue to draw the sharp scales of the pineapple. Note that the scales themselves are smaller than those at the apex of the pineapple.

Step 9

Draw sharp, three-sided scales to complete the pine-shaped fill along the sides and head.

Step 10

Color your pineapple. Most pines are brown in color, which contrasts well with the dark green color of the pine needles.
