Step 1. Sketch the map

Outline the pirate map by creating a rectangle with jagged edges.

Step 2. Draw the water surface and terrain

First, draw blob shapes to create the terrain. Then, draw two bumpy horizontal lines to draw the water.

Step 3. Shape the hull

Create the pirate ship’s hull by drawing the shape as shown. Add detail to the hull by creating horizontal lines.

Step 4. Attach the mast and steer the boat

Attach the pirate ship’s mast by drawing a long thin vertical rectangle. Next, draw the sail by creating a rectangle as shown. Now, create a fun horse shape on the sail by outlining the skull using circular shapes.

Step 5. Add terrain

Draw some main terrain such as mountain ranges, add tree sketches to make the map more vivid.

How to Draw a Pirate Map

Let’s complete the pirate map drawing! First, color the edges of the map with a brown pencil, then gradually turn it blue. Next, color the terrain with a green pen. Now, color the pirate ship’s hull and treasure chest with a brown pencil. Use an orange pencil to fill in the compass, details on the treasure chest, and the pirate ship’s mast. Finally, color the sail with a purple pencil and the skull with a white pencil.
