Hound Dog Step by Step
Step 1
Okay, as you can see, this first step will show you how to draw the basset hound’s frame. Start by drawing a round-looking head with facial guides drawn in front of the face. Next, draw the outline of the dog’s long body with the hind legs as part of the outline. Draw two circles for the forelimbs to look stout. Now move down to step 2.
Step 2
This is where you will start drawing the shape of the long drooping ears and jaw or lips. These dogs are so cute, aren’t they? Now outline the slanted eyes and part of the mouth open. Next, draw the lining of the basset terrier’s coat pattern and outline the toes on the front and back paws. He’s coming along just fine, let’s move on to step 3.
Step 3
Step 3 is where you will complete the sketch of the basset hound. Sketch the details on the dog’s face by drawing the big round nose and detail some more details on the dog’s coat as shown above. Sketch some feathers around the tail and finish drawing the hind legs that appear to be hiding behind. After your sketch looks like the image above, erase all the guides and circles that you drew in step 1.
Step 4
This is what your dog will look like after you finish drawing it. All you need to do is color it and name this sweet looking dog.
